Honkai: Nexus Anima — Release Date, Betas & Platforms
HoYoverse's creature-collector strategy game has finished two closed beta tests and still has no announced release date. This is the plain version of where it actually stands — dated, sourced, and honest about the gaps.

What Is Honkai: Nexus Anima?
HoYoverse describes it as "a brand-new creature-collector adventure strategy game in the Honkai series". You play a plane-hopping traveller who has just escaped confinement, with a character you create yourself, and you collect creatures called Anima as you go.
The name comes from the setting's central idea. A Nexus is an invisible link between two paired concepts — Love and Hate, Light and Dark, Life and Death. When one of those links breaks, the leftover power scatters into the world, and what it settles into is an Anima. Two that have been shown publicly are Puddlipup, shaped like a pudding, and Taileep, named for its long tail.
It shares a series name with the rest of Honkai, but not a genre. This is a creature collector with an open world attached, not an action game.
Nexus Battles: an auto battler, not an action game
Combat is called Nexus Battles, and the outlets that covered both closed tests landed on the same comparison: an auto battler, in the Teamfight Tactics and Auto Chess mould. You assemble a team; the fight resolves itself.
There is a good piece of evidence behind that comparison rather than just vibes. The sign-up questionnaire for the second closed beta asked applicants "What is the highest rank you've reached in Teamfight Tactics?" — reported by Game Rant. A studio screening for TFT experience is telling you what it thinks it built.
If that is the part you care about, the similar games page splits the comparison up by which axis you are actually matching on — collecting, auto-battling or the open world.
Two closed betas, both finished
The first, the Nexus Bond Test, ran September 17–23, 2025. The second, the Evolution Test, ran July 9 to July 27, 2026 — a limited, closed test on PC, Android and iOS that took no payments and wiped all progress at the end. HoYoverse said at the time that the game is still in development and that test content does not represent final quality.
Both are over. You cannot sign up for anything right now, and no third test has been announced. The beta test page has every date, including the sign-up windows, and one thing worth knowing before you visit the official site.

"Not announced" is doing real work in that second line. Other HoYoverse titles have shipped on consoles, and it is tempting to read that as a promise here. It is not one — nothing about this game's console plans has been said either way. The platforms page goes through each one.
What nobody knows yet
Being straight about this is the point of the site, so here is the list in full:
- When it launches. No date, no window, no year. HoYoverse has never given one.
- Whether there is a third test. Nothing has been announced.
- How it makes money. No monetisation model has been announced. The Evolution Test itself took no payments, which tells you about the test and nothing about the launch.
- Which regions get it, and when. Test announcements came out through both HoYoLAB and the Chinese community channels; that does not by itself establish a global release plan.
- Anything about consoles. See above.
A note on how this site handles gaps like these. There is a media prediction of an early-2027 launch in circulation; it is one writer's judgement, not a HoYoverse statement, so it is not treated as a fact here. The gap between the first and second closed tests was roughly ten months, which is a single interval and not a schedule. Neither of those is enough to put a date on a page.
