About HonkaiAnima
HonkaiAnima is an independent, unofficial resource for Honkai: Nexus Anima. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by HoYoverse.
What this site is for
Honkai: Nexus Anima has been playable exactly twice, both times in closed tests, and has no announced release date. That produces a specific problem: there is a lot of search demand and very little confirmed information, and the gap gets filled with guesses that harden into "facts" through repetition.
This site exists to hold one line — publish what is confirmed, state plainly what is not, and never quietly convert the second into the first. That is a narrower promise than most fan sites make, and it is the only one worth making about a game this early.
How claims are sourced
First-party sources take priority: HoYoverse's own announcements, the official site, HoYoLAB and the Chinese community channels. Where a date or detail came from press coverage instead, the beta test timeline names the outlet in the table itself rather than hiding it behind a general "sources" note.
Both closed tests were documented in Chinese before English, and the Chinese material has been more detailed each time. Anything that only exists in Chinese is checked against the Chinese source directly rather than through a summarising layer.
The rules this site holds itself to
These are the actual editorial rules, not a mission statement. Every one of them has cost the site something to keep:
A date goes on a page only if HoYoverse published it
No estimates, no projections, no 'expected'. When a launch date does not exist, the page says it does not exist. This costs traffic — a page with a confident date would rank on more queries — and it is not negotiable, because an invented release date is exactly what people arrive looking for.
"Not announced" never becomes "ruled out"
Two different claims, and only the first is true. There is no announced console version, which is not the same as a console version being cancelled. Sliding between the two is how bad information gets into circulation and then gets cited back.
Absence of evidence is reported as absence of evidence
If something cannot be found, the page says it was not found — not that it does not exist. "I could not find it" is a fact about searching, not a fact about the world. That distinction only holds when the source used would definitely have recorded the thing if it had happened.
Setting terminology is never translated here
Several worldview terms appear on the Chinese site with no published English equivalent. Those are left in Chinese or left out. A fan translation invented on this site would get quoted back as if it were official, and there would be no way to walk it back.
Times are published as they were published
HoYoverse publishes test schedules in UTC+8, so this site prints UTC+8 and labels it. A converted time that is off by one hour is worse than a labelled one you convert yourself.
What this site deliberately does not build
There is no Anima database, no character pages and no tier list here, and that is a decision rather than a to-do item.
Those pages require data from inside the game. The game is unreleased, the only builds anyone has seen were wiped closed tests, and the community wikis that do run databases have people who actually played those tests. Publishing a thinner version of their work, padded with "TBA" where the numbers should be, would help nobody — and a page full of TBA is a page that cannot answer the question it ranked for.
What this site can do better than a wiki is the part wikis are worst at: exact dates, cross-checked, and an honest account of what is still unknown.
Corrections
Every page carries the date it was last verified, and that date means the claims on it were re-checked against source on that day — not that the file was edited. When something turns out to be wrong it gets corrected in place, and where the correction matters the page says what it used to say.
Found an error, or have a first-party source for something listed here as unannounced? Send it to hello@honkaianima.com. A link to the source is worth more than a description of it.
Affiliation and ownership
HonkaiAnima is unofficial. Honkai: Nexus Anima, the Honkai series and all related names, artwork and assets belong to HoYoverse. This site claims no rights over them and speaks for nobody but itself. For official information, always go to the official site first.
The site runs no advertising, no affiliate links and no sponsored content. It collects nothing about visitors — see the privacy policy, which is short because there is genuinely nothing to disclose.
